NSC’s Sailing Program includes a wide variety of popular social sailing and fun races, upriver distance races, and club regattas almost every weekend throughout the sailing season.  Most weekend events provide an opportunity to participate in any type of keelboat or dinghy and offer either a social sailing or a more relaxed fun race format, so there is something for every sailing level and interest.

Some weekend sailing events form part of the regular Interclub race series program such as NSC hosted Long Distance races (Interclub Long Distance Series) and the October Frostbite Series.  Information on individual weekend club regattas can be found on the main Racing Page.

In addition to the above, below is a listing of the annual NSC weekend sailing events on offer:

Note: * The Interclub Long Distance Series includes most of the above, and additional races hosted by BYC.

The current year’s Sailing Instructions provide further details including scheduled dates, start times, courses, and eligible fleets or classes. Most specialty club sailing events such as Commodore’s Sailpast, Midnight Madness, Harbourmaster’s Race, and Turkey Trot Pursuit are open to all club members and do not require a registered race handicap. Other events form part of the regular Interclub race program, and boats must register in advance to obtain a race handicap to participate — see the Race Registration Page for more info. For those new to sailing and racing at NSC, they may want to check out the Race Program Overview.
