The regatta takes place at the Nepean Sailing Club (NSC) on the Ottawa River where it widens and is known as Lac Deschênes. The Nepean Sailing Club is located on the Ontario side of the Ottawa river in an area approximately 10 kilometers west of Ottawa’s downtown core. This part of the Ottawa River is a little over 3 kilometers (2 miles) wide.

Launching

NSC features 2 paved, launch ramps, which depend on wind direction can simultaneously launch up to 4 boats at a time.

Parking

Ample on-site parking is available for cars and vehicles just outside the NSC clubhouse grounds and yard. Parking areas can be viewed in the NSC Site Plan here.

Due to space restrictions and to allow for extra visiting boats, equipment, and dedicated parking for the Able-Sailors, yard parking in the designated areas (eg. Dinghy sail) during the regatta weekend will be significantly limited. Regatta participants are strongly encouraged to park outside the yard after dropping off any equipment/boats if need be.

Any parking in access ways or in front of Trailer Launch boats (as indicated in the yard by yellow ropes) is strictly prohibited and will be enforced if necessary.

Access cards

To avoid security issues with visitors wedging the gate open, we will provide security passes for visitors. A small cash deposit may be required. The pass card will grant access to the yards throughout the event. Cards will be automatically disabled after the event. Please return to a regatta organizer when the pass is no longer required.

Repair Facilities & Chandlery

There is a NSC club workshop in the yard with some tools and machining equipment for those minor repairs. The local marine chandlery, The Chandlery is a short 10 minute drive away for those last minute parts and supplies.
