The order of posts on NSC’s home/splash page is determined by the “publish date” of the post, with the newest posts appearing at the top of the four listed on the splash page and also on the News page.
NSC has a practice of not adjusting publish dates simply to re-shuffle the order of posts; if we were to do that, we would have various parties with different views on priorities, all constantly requesting that their posts be prioritized.
That said, it is sometimes appropriate to refresh a post’s content and bump it to the top of the home page, but whenever the publish date is changed, there should be a meaningful change in the post’s content.
If an editorial change is made to the content of a post, it is generally more appropriate just to make the change, but to not change the publish date.
