Back by popular demand and on Zoom for the first time, the 2021 Women in Wind Conference takes place on the afternoon of Saturday, April 24th. As of April 13, more than 50 women are registered. Speakers range from a commodore to a cruise week director, from local sailors to an Olympic racer.

Organized by the Ottawa River Women’s Interclub Fleet Committee, this half day of presentations and workshops covers a wide range of topics from basic cruising to advanced sailing. The conference aims to provide an environment where women who are experienced sailors and new members alike can learn or refine sailing skills, connect with other sailors virtually and build the confidence to become a more valuable crew member or knowledgeable helmswoman.

Topics covered during the conference will range from basic sailing interests to racing strategies to sharing sailing experiences on the Ottawa River and beyond. The attached conference agenda provides more detailed information.

While there are no conference fees, registration is limited and only those registered can participate. Please contact the Britannia Yacht Club office before April 23rd to provide your name, email address, club and choice of concurrent sessions: 613-828-5167; info@byc.ca.
