The Ottawa Sports Awards committee has selected the winners of its annual major awards for 2021.  The winners had outstanding success on the national and international stages, and include first-time winners as well as previous honourees.

NSC’s own Christian Voyer and Luke Strickland were selected as “Male Team of the Year” (…across all sports – NOT just sailing).  They also took the top award in the sailing category.

Voyer and Strickland represented Canada at the 2021 World Youth Championships thanks to their outstanding national results in 2021.  In fact, the team was unbeatable during the 2021 season, winning every regatta they entered.  Most notably, the pair won the 2021 Sail Canada C420 youth national championship in July and then won at the i420 youth national championship.

The Ottawa Sports Awards is the largest and most inclusive amateur sport recognition event in Canada and will mark its 69th anniversary this year.

CONGRATULATIONS Christian and Luke.  You make us all very proud!!
