On Thurs 29 Apr @7:30pm, David Searle talks about The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2012, what rules have changed, what these changes are and how they will affect us as we go into the 2010 sailboat racing season. David will be able to speak about recent interpretations that he has seen used during his Race Committee experience in Key West and Charleston Race Weeks.

The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) are the rules that govern the conduct of the sport of sailboat racing and include the so-called “right of way” rules for boats that are racing. The rules are written by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and are published every four years in the year following the Olympic Games. The current version of the RRS – “The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012”, came into effect on 1 January 2009 and can be found online at: http://www.sailing.org/tools/counter.php?id=536
