Emma Moxley will describe the cruise she  took last year on a new cruise ship using wonderful photos and video. She travelled from Luxembourg to historic Nuremberg Germany, travelling through 51 locks, on the Rhine, Mosel, Main and Danube. Part of the adventure was on a bike along the Main canal. “Who knew that I could cycle 35 km? This was the first time I had been on a bike in 10 years!”.

The river cruise industry has exploded over the last two years. Ships are sold out months or even a year in advance. Cruise lines are building and launching new ships at an incredible rate to respond to the demand. Why is it suddenly so popular?

Join Emma to learn about what a European River Cruise entails. She will discuss the differences between River Cruise lines, the variety of styles, intimacy of River Vessels, and ease of River Cruising.

Switching from a long career at Entrust as a Business  Manager to personal vacation planning has its traveling perks. “This was my first River Cruise experience, but definitely not my last. I loved it so much that last Feb. 14th I booked my husband, myself and a group of 10 friends on an upcoming Danube cruise departing from Budapest.”

The kitchen opens at 5.00 pm, and the presentation will start at 7:30 p.m.  Check the Galley menu for specials.  Members of all local sailing clubs obtain a discount on food purchases by showing a valid club membership card. Attendees are asked to make a donation to support the NSC Legacy fund.

The speaker series continues weekly until April 11. Please see the Winter Speaker page for details.
