Did you know a bunch of local sailors have been raising funds for several years now for camp for kids with cancer? Why not become a Solo Sailor and join in the fun and skill building to help raise funds and awareness for Campfire Circle? Never solo sailed before? We can help you!

Why we do it

Campfire Circle is a not for profit organization that runs Camps for Kids with Cancer.

It’s a blast!

Check out the Ottawa Citizen Community Builders article.

What we do

This year’s event will be three days: August 11,12,13. Most of the sailors in previous years have been participants from NSC and a few from CVGR (Aylmer). We sail up and down, criss crossing the Ottawa River talking to each other on Facebook Messenger and VHF radio. Then, at supper time each day we anchor and raft up to eat together and exchange notes and stories from the day.

What you can do

Don’t have the confidence to solo sail? Here’s a hint: While others are aboard your boat with you, try increasingly doing everything yourself.

Come find out more and chat with our sailors without obligation by dropping in to our

Informal gathering
Wednesday, June 21
Between 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Bar & Galley, NSC

If you would like to find out more please drop an email to David Morralee.
