On possibly the hottest weekend of this summer, about 25 boats and over 100 folks met up-river for our signature cruising rendezvous at Baskins Beach. Some by boat, and some by road; old friends gathered, and new friendships were formed.

Back again from a two-year hiatus, Dave prepared his signature deep fried turkeys on site, Chef Mark prepared some awesome pulled pork, and of course it wouldn’t be Baskins without Doug boiling up some delicious corn, and not to forget, deep fried Pogos.

Terry Tufts entertained everyone for hours and it was appreciated by all that he could join us. As the sun set, the bonfire roared and smores were enjoyed on the beach. If you didn’t make it…you should have… well, next year.

This year, over five-hundred dollars was collected in the donations bin. All the proceeds will be allocated to the NSC Legacy fund. The purpose of the fund is a resource whereby sailors can apply for and access financial support for exceptional sailing/boating activities.

These events just don’t happen by themselves, it takes a lot of volunteers and staff, to take care of the details to make all of this happen. I would like to thank everyone that helped out to make this year’s Baskins a very special event.
