Learn to be an effective volunteer in the race committee, helping to run sailing races for your fellow members. This is an on-shore half-day seminar, May 11 at NSC.
Race committee members help run the races on the water. Skills you will learn at this course include race timing, flag sequences, setting angle between marks, reading the wind, communicating with the race officer and other RC volunteers.
You don’t have to a regular racer, but a basic understanding of racing is helpful – this could be from prior experience or from one of the other race training events at NSC this winter/spring.
The course will be approximately at the Assistant Race Officer level, but we are not providing certification. Contact Dominic Goodwill, Fleet Captain for more information.
This seminar is open to NSC members and members of other clubs. There is no fee. Start time and end time will be posted here nearer the date. Lunch is not included.
