The Nepean One Design is coming (June 17-18) bringing regatta excitement and sailors to NSC for Canada’s largest open One Design regatta. 12 One Design classes including Able Sail and 2 Youth Dinghy fleets made selection, and registrations are trending for a big turnout.
And as we countdown to NOD 2017 and the coming boats and sailors grow, so do the NOD social plans for some fantastic regatta fun and entertainment.
Saturday post-racing, sailors returning to harbour will be greeted by the solo styling’s of singer/song writer Dave Milliken as they gather around the clubhouse and raft of visiting boats out front. Yes Vipers, there will be a “Viper Pit”! To feed all the hungry NOD 2017 participants, the NSC Galley crew have designed a special Saturday chicken & rib dinner. After dinner, the rocky, rootsy, reggae sounds of Marc Charron and the Jaymarcs will carry the party on the deck through the evening.
Of course there will be all the usual traditional NOD regatta goodies as well. Complimentary continental breakfasts each day, sponsor prizes, NOD regalia for sale, inpromptu fleet raft-ups, and Sunday afternoon’s regatta awards celebration.
To assist with the unique spring challenges for many regional clubs and sailors, Early Registration pricing has been extended until 1700 Friday June 9th for those still looking to join in. Their fellow NSC class members are of course also ready to lend a helping hand with any needed boat prep or assistance.
