The Nepean Sailing Club 2.4mR sailors have arrived in Miami for the US Midwinter Championship and the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. Aaron & Christine’s boats greeted us when arrived at the sailing venue (Shake-a-Leg Miami) and Peter Wood’s will arrive January 16th. The entry list for the 2.4’s class includes all three medal winners for the 2008 Paralympic sailing event, the past 2 open 2.4mR Class world champions and a list of competitors whose resume include continental championships won. Competitors from as far away as Finland and Argentina will be joining the 11 Canadian boats sailing the event. Our goals are modest, To improve throughout the regatta and learn from the best sailors in the class.
The midwinter championship starts Thursday January 20th with the Olympic Classes starting Monday January 24th. We will be sending regular reports as news develops.
