Evidently, some of you are waiting for the Warning Gun to sound before you race down to your vessel and start your Launch preparations.  As you get ready, a few things to please keep in mind:

  • Power is available now in the Yard.  If you’re not finding it, double-check the GFCI socket first then look for a Staff member to help out.
  • Running water will take a little more time, stay tuned for more details.  (There is, however, plenty of cold water just a bucket away)
  • We will arrange for extra bins but at this time of year, they fill quickly.  If you can handle getting your tarp home for disposal, please do.
  • Remember that NSC has strict Environmental Protection rules.  If you’re sanding material off your boat, make sure that dust and debris are properly contained and disposed of.

About the weather: Common wisdom is that the ice leaves the NSC Harbour about a week after the Ottawa River breaks up.  The River has changed substantially in a week but is still pretty solid.

As I mentioned in the TellTale, it’ll be a close call this year, please stay tuned for any details.
