It’s hard to believe that almost two months have passed since the Dec 5th AGM, time flies! First off I’d like to thank all of the organizers for the AGM – the evening ran extremely smoothly and we had a very high (possibly record?) turn out.
We’re still trying to figure out whether that was due to the free food or the election :-). Seriously, it’s a great feeling to have such an engaged membership and I am very pleased to be taking the reigns from our past commodore Corey Glynn (big shoes to fill!).
We are experiencing a good old fashioned Ottawa winter this year. It’s snowing again as I write but the good news is that we have just passed the half way mark between haul out and launch. The days are getting longer, the sun is higher in the sky and before we know it we will be on the water again.
Our boats may be sleeping under their covers but it’s a very busy time for the NSC directors. I am very fortunate to have an incredible team of directors on my board ranging from a few first timers to well seasoned veterans, all of whom will keep me in line. You can see who’s who on YOUR board here. On Monday we will be meeting for the 3rd time since the AGM and planning for the 2019 season is in full swing.
We on the board are always keen to have your feedback (good, bad or indifferent) so please don’t hesitate to be in touch. You may do so easily by sending an email to the new address feedback@nsc.ca. This will automatically forward your comments to all board members and to the two club managers.
I’m very excited to have this opportunity to serve as your commodore and give back to our club.
Best regards,
Michael Hoffman
