Fleet awards night on 16 November 2019 attracted a large crowd of 140 NSC sailors, who collected 160 awards between them. Fleet’s highest award, the Commodore’s Cup, went to Aaron Wong-Sing and Peter Wood for outstanding competitive sailing and coaching respectively, with particular contributions to the 2019 Mobility Cup.

The FANFARE race committee volunteers received the Regatta Official of the Year award for their perfect performance at our annual dinghy / catamaran regatta in the fall. Andrea O’Brien received the Keelboat Sportsmanship and Tenacity trophy. Her C&C27 “Kolika” finished every Tuesday, Thursday and Frostbite race bar one.

Chef Rony laid on a sophisticated dinner, centered around grilled bison in a honey bourbon sauce and a rich cheesecake dessert. For the first time, MPP’s certificates were presented to our high achievers by the community liaison officer of our local MPP Jeremy Roberts.

We have published Fleet’s highlights of the 2019 season and the list of winners from awards night.

All in all, it was a grand party and a fitting conclusion to a strong sailing season.

From Dominic Goodwill, Fleet Captain.
