Are you ready to cross the provincial border in the most unconventional way possible? Make the trek from Ontario to Quebec by swimming across the mighty Ottawa River! Every year, swimmers and paddlers from the National Capital Region and beyond take to the water to enjoy and advocate for a clean, swimmable river. This year, you could be one of them!

On August 11th, join Ottawa Riverkeeper for the fifth annual Riverkeeper 4K Swim presented by Alterna Savings, one of only 138 open water races in the Global Swim Series! This is your opportunity to swim across the river that unites our two provinces, accompanied by some of the Ottawa River’s most dedicated paddlers. It’s also your chance to help us raise awareness and funds to help protect our watershed and make the Ottawa River a swimmable, drinkable, and fishable river!

Swimmers: Sign up here to register as a swimmer for one of our THREE distances: the 4K, the 1.5K or the 750m: raceroster.com/events/2018/18027/ottawa-riverkeeper-4k-swim

Paddlers: Sign up here to join the flotilla of kayaks, canoes, and SUPs, crossing the river alongside the swimmers: raceroster.com/events/2018/18027/ottawa-riverkeeper-4k-swim
It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a day out on the river with other river enthusiasts while helping ensure the swimmers cross the river safely. Registration is free for paddlers!

There are prizes to be had for top finishers in each category, and both paddlers and swimmers will be entered into the draw for some pretty nifty door prizes.

We hope to see you all out on the water!
