The annual NSC rites of spring have now passed, with a great THRASH by Social, Launch, and weekly Interclub Racing has begun (Yeah!) as I’m finally pulling together this quarterly report. Your 2015 Fleet Committee volunteers have been busy putting the final pieces in place for the start of a fantastic Sailing season.

Cruisers…summer is finally upon us and that means it’s time to get your boats ready for heading up river for some fantastic sailing on the Ottawa Riviera! Pinhey’s Point, Constance Bay, Mohr Island – there are many anchorages that await!
The red buoy K10 marking the narrow channel near the Constance shoal is out of position by about 0.17 NM downstream of chart position. The Coast Guard has been notified. The green buoy K11 is good, and should be the one used for navigating that channel. (Updated 2014-06-27).

Despite the freezing conditions, I thought you’d like to know that we’ve reached the halfway point between Haul-Out and Launch. Days are getting longer, time to start “thinking boating”.
Eric Hill of seasurvival.ca will be running an ISAF/Sail Canada accredited Offshore Personal Survival Course at NSC on the weekend of Feb 1-2. Space is limited. [Note: Unfortunately, this course filled up in one day.]
