Each year as part of NSC’s Commodore’s Sailpast, we recognize our members celebrating membership anniversaries of 10 years or more by awarding special club burgees. Please join your fellow club members in congratulating this year’s NSC Anniversary Burgee recipients, listed below.

As we are all rightfully excited to be allowed back to our beloved boats tomorrow to actually get on the water, I wanted to share with you what is an intensely personal account from one of our long standing friends and members: Laura Parkinson.
Parking in the overflow parking area to the east of the main gate is now permitted for members’ trailers. A bosun can give members access to the area, and will ensure that members’ trailers are locked.
Monday October 14 is our annual Feast, to give thanks for the wonderful community of NSC and a great 2019 sailing season. We need volunteers to cook turkeys and other foods at home, and to help lay out the food. Sailors sail in the Turkey Trot pursuit race.
Maybe you are an NSC member without a boat, or maybe you want to try something different. Then rent an NSC sailing dinghy or catamaran – 420, Laser, Hobie 16, Hobie Bravo. Any membership level – family, student, crewing/social, out-of-town, including this-season NSC Advantage Boating sailors. You rig the boat, go sailing, de-rig when done….

NSC has joined Volunteer Ottawa as a Corporate Member. Volunteer Ottawa (VO) is a membership based organization that has approximately 300 corporate and individual members, a database of over 3000 volunteers, and provides extensive training for volunteers.
