It was a fantastic club evening as friends, family, and crew gathered to celebrate the season, and honour fellow members at NSC Sailing Awards Night last Saturday. Nothing like a vibrant clubhouse full of well-dressed sailors reconnecting, and swapping stories of another great season!

Thanks to a great team of volunteers and staff, another fantastic member’s NSC Turkey Trot and Feast took place Thanksgiving Monday. Defying the rain and some expectations, an outstanding gathering of families, and friends came out to enjoy the warm fall winds and some on and off water fun at NSC’s traditional closing social sail.
Albacores representing 10 clubs across the country raced for the Canadian Championship on September 20, 21 and 22 2017, in a tittle event co-hosted by NSC and the Canadian Albacore Association. 19 Crews came to NSC from Shelburne (Nova Scotia), South Carolina, London (ON), Parry Sound, Toronto, and Ottawa.

We need 5 volunteers to buy and cook a turkey and bring it in that morning to add to the afternoon Thanksgiving feast post-sailing (we give the hard working Galley the day off). Gobble! Gobble! Gobble! Folks, the ever popular NSC Turkey Trot Pursuit and Feast is just 10 days away and counting on Monday Oct. 9th! This is an open club member’s pursuit sail race followed by a social Thanksgiving feast in the afternoon. All sailboats, members and guests welcome. Registered Handicaps are not required!

Thursday, September 28th after racing, Britannia Yacht Club will be graciously hosting this year’s interclub End of Weeknight Racing Social. Come one, come all and pass the word to your fellow sailors! Good company, and scrumptious finger food provided. Head over to the BYC lounge immediately after racing!
The 2017 FANtastic Nepean FAll REgatta (FANFARE) took place on the September 9 & 10th weekend. 31 boats registered in five dinghy/cat classes. As usual the Lac Deschenes’ wind conditions were challenging but our excellent RC team lead by Hugh McDowell managed to run the nine scheduled races.
