A reminder to all racers that per the Sailing Instructions, weeknight racing starts 15 minutes earlier in September. I.e. first warning signal is at 1800 on all nights, except for the Thursday evening OD course, where the first warning is scheduled for 1755.
After 2 days of racing, with 2 days remaining, NSC sailors Brian Peckover & Doreen Ames lead the Gold and Silver fleets respectively at the 2018 Mobility Cup in Halifax. Hot & gusty weather conditions. A pair of Martin 16’s and a coach boat were shipped out from NSC. We will be hosting the 2019…
This regatta is open for your: 505, albacore, Fireball, Open Catamaran, 420’s and Lasers. Minimum of 5 boats for each fleet. Registration cut-off is Sept. 6. To see the full details and to register for this regatta, select FANFARE.
The ultimate test of sailing skill: the single-handed keelboat race is Saturday 25 August. Warning gun 13:50 at the Olympic circle. Boats from all Lac Deschenes clubs welcome.
A scorer is needed for Fanfare 2018 which will be held on the weekend of Sept 8th and 9th. If you have scoring experience and are available that weekend, please contact Jennifer Holliday at Chief Scorer.
The second Queen’s Park Race, open to PHRF, JAM, Sharks, Dinghies and Daysailers, is on AUg26. This is an ILD counter. TIME: Warning 1330. COURSE: Start at “S” Mark as per Part A, 14.2. Leave to port drop mark at Queen’s Park. Finish at “S” as per Part H, 6.2. Distance: approx. 8.4 Nm.
It is with great sadness that we mark the sudden and tragic passing of NSC Member and Ottawa business owner Friedemann Weinhardt. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends. In respect, NSC’s flag will fly at half-mast.
