The Mobility Cup regatta 2023 was held at the National Yacht Club, Toronto August 27-31. NSC members sailed in the 20-boat Gold fleet, with Brian Peckover finishing 2nd overall (including 2 race wins), and Karell Regnier 16th. The National Capital Cup Regatta was successfully held on July 8 & 9 after a three year break due to COVID and a slow recovery from the pandemic. This year’s event had four entrants in Gold Fleet and four entrants in Silver Fleet with out of town sailors coming from Vancouver and Belleville.
The C. Thomas Clagett, Jr. Memorial Clinic And Regatta (partnered with the U.S. Para Sailing Championship) was held June 20-25 in Newport, RI. This year’s event included Martin 16’s and 2.4mR’s (open to adaptive and able bodied sailors alike).
The Nepean Sailing Club is hosting the 2022 National Capital Cup with competitors from across Ontario and Quebec. It is Ottawa’s biggest regatta for sailors with physical disabilities and is a preparatory regatta for the national Mobility Cup in September.
On Saturday, June 25th the Nepean Sailing Club and the Ottawa River Canoe Club will co-host Give-It-A-Go, an event aimed at introducing youth and adults, living with disabilities, and newly disabled individuals, the opportunity to experience the joys of sailing and/or paddling!
