If you have been using the NSC Annex (the club’s workshop) and have stored or kept items there, including outboards on outboard racks, you are requested to remove them before the end of this week please. Club staff will be cleaning and purging the facility beginning this week.
NSC needs to do a survey of the state of the chains securing our docks. A pair of qualified volunteer divers are being sought over the next few weeks to perform this survey. If you are qualified and available to help, please contact Gene Bruce for further details: gbruce at nsc.ca.
Great news! The powered gate to the yard has been replaced and is now back in operation. Members are reminded to please drive slowly in the yard for both safety and dust control reasons.
Now that we are well into the boating and sailing season, the Service Docks are an important shared resource for all members. As gentle reminder, the rules of the road for use of our Service Docks are found here: Service Docks Rules of the Road.
A gentle reminder that it is important to keep the walkways around the clubhouse and in the yard free of obstructions. For participants in the Able Sail program, the walkways can be the only way to access the yard. Please ensure masts and other items are not on any walkways.
Vehicle traffic will remain restricted for the next week (effective 17 – 21 June inclusive), except for members launching their boats on trailers, club staff and Service Providers. The gate will be open for vehicles between 1700 and 2200 hrs each day. Yard parking is not yet authorized.
A huge “Thank you” to the organizers, leaders, skippers/owners and members who pitched in to help clean up the yard and around the clubhouse this past Saturday. Everything from the “bathtub ring” to the walkways to the tent awnings was completed. Our club now looks like we are truly ready to enjoy a great season…
Club (Commercial) Launch was successfully completed this past Saturday (June 8). Despite a mechanical problem with one of the cranes, all boats were in the water by 1500 hrs. A huge thank you to the organizers, crew chiefs and many volunteers who made it all happen so smoothly. “Bravo Zulu” to all!
A cooperative masting session is scheduled for Saturday, 15 June (1000 to 1400 hrs), at the North Crane bay. Please RSVP to Andrew Plater: andrew.plater@forces.gc.ca
