A Special Meeting of the Members was held earlier this month, the main purpose of which was to vote on changes to NSC’s By-Law so that the timing of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) aligns with new legislation. There are still more changes required, and this was an important first step.

In all, 72 members attended the meeting, and the motions to change the By-Law were passed. With these changes, the membership will now be able to receive the audited financial statements from the most recent year-end in time for the AGM. This means that the AGM will now be held in the spring, rather than late fall. This also means that our previous Spring Information Meeting (SIM) will now turn into an annual reporting meeting to the membership, held in the fall. There are also other practical implications of these changes, and these will be woven into NSC’s processes over time.

Details of the original announcement, and links to associated documents, are available here. To access that link, you will need to enter a username and password, as explained here. Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions, or you can contact the Commodore at any time.

Wishing you all a great Christmas season.

Thank you.
