The 2.4mR’s finished on Saturday. It was a relatively heavy wind series. On friday I had a pretty good day considering that I had the wrong sails for the conditions. The wind was stronger than I preferred and I had the light wind sails. I did get a 6ht in the fifth race of the day which is my best race result so far. I also had bilge pump problems and sailed most of the day with 3 to 4 inches of water in the cockpit. A broken wire disabled my electric pump and a split in the intake hose on my manual added to the problems.
Saturday started off with light winds and I had a good first race. things went downhill from there as they shortened the start line and I couldn’t seem to get a good start. The end result was 16th out of 22 boats.
Today the OCR regatta starts and the weather forecast is challenging. Winds 20 knots and thunder storms are predicted this afternoon. Christine Lavallee has to go through disability classification this morning.
