In November, NSC members Peter Wood and Johan Koppernaes were among 13 Canadians who attended the 2.4mR Open World Championship at Davis Island Yacht Club in Tampa, Florida.  The competition was heavily impacted by Hurricane Nicole , with only six races completed over two of the four scheduled days.  Worlds results are here.

A dozen or so 2.4mR's jockey for position on the starting line.

Between January and March, Peter Wood and Debbie Reinhart travelled to the Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club (CHYC), Florida, to race in the five-regatta CanAm series hosted by the 2.4mR US Class Association and CHYC.

CHYC has been the winter home for 2.4mR sailors for 10 years. The hospitable club’s top notch regatta management and weather attracted competitors from Victoria, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa and racers from the US and Puerto Rico. A steady temperature of 27C and good winds ensured close races.  CanAm results here.

Several 2.4mR sailboats have just rounded the windward mark and are sailing wing on wing downwind.

Read about the 2.4mR and Fran Burstein photos here.   Peter Wood is Can14 in the photos above.

Interested in trying one out? We can get you on the water in a 2.4, even for a Wednesday evening club race.
