Rules of the Road: Efficient Use of Service Docks

Boats at the service docks with the yard and crane in the background

Welcome to our Service Docks, where convenience meets efficiency to enhance your boating experience. Each dock in front of the Clubhouse serves a specific purpose, ensuring seamless access to essential services for your boat. As the seasons change and water levels fluctuate, we have made minor adjustments to better accommodate your needs.

Service Dock Signs

To facilitate clarity and ease of use, we have installed signs on each Service Dock, indicating their designated functions and occupancy guidelines. Here’s a breakdown of the signs, from left to right:

Service Docks Signs
Signs Used on Service Docks

1. Maximum Slip Time: This sign indicates the maximum duration you can occupy a slip, allowing fair access to all members. Please adhere to the designated time limits to ensure everyone’s convenience.

2. Pump-out: This sign denotes the slip designated for pump-out services, ensuring proper waste management and environmental responsibility.

3. Fueling: The slip with this sign is dedicated to efficient and safe fueling operations, enabling quick refuelling for your boat.

4. Service: This sign designates the slip for boat maintenance and servicing. Utilize this area to address any necessary repairs or adjustments promptly.

5. Launch or Haul-out (South Crane): The slip near the south crane is specifically allocated for boat launching or hauling operations. Members utilizing trailers for boat transport should have priority access to this slip, not just during race nights but at any time they wish to use their boat.

6. AC Power Access: This sign indicates the slip where members can access AC power for charging their boats’ electrical systems. Ensure to utilize this slip responsibly and considerately.

Three Main Service Dock “Rules of the Road”

To optimize the functionality of our Service Docks, we have established three important guidelines:

1. Slip #9: Located beside the south crane well, Slip #9 must be available for members who are trailer-launching their boats. Please keep this slip accessible to them, not only during race nights but at any time they wish to utilize their boats.

2. Slips #8 and #7: Designated as the “express lanes,” these slips are intended for quick service needs, such as pump-outs or fueling, that can be accomplished within 20 minutes. Please utilize these slips efficiently to avoid unnecessary delays.

3. Maximum Stay at Other Slips: The maximum stay at the remaining slips is set at 2 hours to accommodate various boating requirements. However, we understand that sometimes more time is needed. In such cases, you can obtain a ‘slip ticket’ from the Office. Attach it to your boat using a zip tie to communicate to fellow members and the appropriate staff that your extended stay has been approved.

Remember, these slips are here to support your specific requirements. The signs and procedures are in place to ensure fair access and efficient utilization of these valuable resources for all members.

Please note that there isn’t a guard post directly by the docks. We trust in your good judgment and ask that you follow the guidelines outlined by the signs provided.
