We need volunteers in kayaks, canoes & rowboats to watch over the swimmers following the group along the Bring on the Bay swim course.

As you may know, on Saturday, July 17th, there will be the annual “Bring on the Bay” swim from NSC to BYC beginning @ 8 am. The number of swimmers has grown by leaps & bounds from 12, 4 years ago to an expected 150 this year. The course is shown on the NSC website under the Bring on the Bay banner. If necessary, swimmers will call for assistance & may rest on your boats. Over the past 4 years, no one has needed assistance and all the swimmers that started have finished at BYC taking from 40 – 80 minutes. You can get breakfast at BYC & join the finishing ceremonies there & row boats can get a tow back. .

If you can do this, you need to be at the harbour entrance by 7:30 am Saturday July 17th.  Bring an extra life jacket & if you have one, a hand held VHF radio on channel 16 or a FRS radio tuned to channel 10.

PLEASE RSVP by July 13th to parke.davis@rogers.com so I know how many safety boats we will have accompanying the swimmers .

Thanks for helping out,

Parke,

Harbour Master.
