As of 13 September, a new White Spar Buoy marker has been installed over an underwater hazard discovered within the NSC channel that has been struck by several members’ boats. Please exercise caution when transiting around this area.

Offshore Safety & Sea Survival Course, BYC, April 21-22
Eric Hill returns to Ottawa April 21-22 to again present his ISAF-approved Offshore Personal Survival course. This is the same course that NSC hosted in 2014 (see Jacques Adam’s report), and that BYC hosted in 2016. In 2018, it will again be hosted at Britannia Yacht Club, 2777 Cassels Street, Ottawa.
Frostbite Races, Oct 4, 11 & 18 – Sailing Instructions
Parts A & F of the Interclub Sailing Instructions address the upcoming Sunday afternoon Frostbite races, the format of which is a little different this year. Following a request from the dinghy sailors, Amendment #2 has also been issued, to provide for a Catamaran & Dinghy class as a third start.
Interclub Spring Series Racing Starts May 12
As some of you may know, water levels have dropped and BYC’s flood gates have been out for awhile now. BYC’s start has now been officially confirmed, and weeknight Interclub racing will start with the Spring Series beginning this week. Right on schedule for this year!
