Water levels are unusually low for this time of year. Boats with a draft of 5 ft. or more need to exercise extreme caution in the harbour and transiting the NSC channel. The channel markers have been moved significantly East and South to compensate. Further details are included below:

Both  the outer ORT type buoys have been moved 30 meters East and the Inner Red Pencil type buoy has been moved 15 meters South. Avoid “ hugging “  either side of the channel due to chance of hitting the anchors holding the marks in place. When making the final right turn into the harbour at the last Red buoy,  stay well away from the  lighthouse spit or you will find mud.
