A huge thank you to the volunteers who organized and conducted another very successful launch on Saturday, 5 June. Once again, despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, the teams performed a flawless series of launches with some 70 boats placed in the harbour by early afternoon. “BZ” to all.

Federal Boating Ban Lifted for Ottawa River (Lac Deschenes)
As of 4 June 2019, Transport Canada has announced on their website that the boating ban has been lifted for all of the Ottawa River, including that portion navigable from NSC. Let’s go sailing and boating!
NSC Pinhey’s Point Race – Sunday June 24
This is the second race of the Interclub Long distance series. The start is at “S” mark and the warning time is 1100 hours. The two drop marks off Pinhey’s Point must be rounded to port. Refer to Sailing Instructions for details.
Weeknight Racing Starts 15 minutes earlier in September
Racers are reminded that as of September 1st, per SI 6.2, the first warning signal is 15 minutes earlier. Also, now would be a good time for sailors to check their running lights, as keelboat racers should not expect to always get ashore before sunset.
