The Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board posted a YouTube video, recorded April 2, 2020, titled “Lac Deschênes and the Ottawa River Basin”. The presentation provides excellent insight in understanding the situation we face each spring, and the efforts to control and mitigate flooding; it also explains why ultimately we are at the mercy of mother nature. This presentation is specific to the section of the Ottawa River on which we sail, i.e. Lac Deschênes.
