It was a fantastic club evening as friends, family, and crew gathered to celebrate the season, and honour fellow members at NSC Sailing Awards Night last Saturday. Nothing like a vibrant clubhouse full of well-dressed sailors reconnecting, and swapping stories of another great season!
It was a joy to see a number of newer members, “junior sailors”, and themed teams add their own colour to the evening. After cocktails, the Galley served up a fabulous, classy 4 course dinner to the beautiful nautical dressed tables, while a slideshow of great 2017 sailing moments played in the background.
The proceedings got underway over dessert starting with the season’s highlights, special recognition of Head Race Bosun Wynn Davies, and the Able Sail/Youth raffle draw (Congratulations Fraser!). Our skilled MC for the evening, Matt Davidge, did his usual highly entertaining and fast-paced job of moving through the many awards and glittering hardware handouts. All leading up to the big special awards finish with a little video of his own sailing skills thrown in for fun.
Congratulations to all the 2017 NSC recipients of the various racing and sailing event awards (see here) with special note to this year’s winners of the overall fleet and special club category awards:

See you at the NSC AGM on December 7th, and this season’s Interclub Series Awards night hosted by BYC January 18th!
