Nominations are now open for you to nominate your fellow members for their volunteer achievements at your Club.

Approximately 30% of you have freely given your time to support your Club in some way: You have volunteered.  Launched boats, decorated Harbour View Hall, hosted Christmas parties for our kids, collected garbage, shown other members how to safely operate the cranes, run world-class regattas, tended to the property, moved trailers, open and closed the harbour…I could go on (and on), its a long and impressive list.

The volunteerism rate at NSC is so much higher than average, there is a risk of us thinking of it as the status-quo.  This year, we are taking a small step to further recognizing volunteerism at NSC introducing a new award: A trophy to be presented at the Annual General Meeting for volunteer achievement: The NSC Annual Volunteer Achievement Award.

The award is for the NSC volunteer who during the last year (2016) has demonstratively made, by their actions, an exceptional volunteer contribution to the aims, objectives and betterment of the Club. The trophy is a unique hand blown glass rendition of a boating theme donated each year to NSC by “Nautical White”, our regalia supplier and kept by the recipient.

The process to nominate an individual is simple – one member one nomination.  You can nominate your candidate by completing the online form here or by filling out the paper form available at the office.

Nominations are open from Monday, November 7, 2016 until November 25, 2016 and must be for members in good standing. Results will be consolidated  by the Membership and Volunteer Committee and the trophy will be awarded at the Annual General Meeting on December 1, 2016.
