Gobble! Gooble! Gobble! Folks, the annual NSC Turkey Trot Pursuit race and Thanksgiving Feast is just 12 days now, and counting, on Monday Oct. 12th, 2015! Briefing (in the NSC Members Lounge): 10:00 hrs. Copies of the Special Instructions about course and start times by boat handicap will be issued.
First warning signal: 11:00hrs, first gun: 11:05hrs (for the slowest boat.)
Awards: Leon’s TV Trophy – 1st overall, all classes. And turkey prizes (Farm Boy Gift Cards) for the top finishers in PHRF/JAM, and Dinghy/Catamarans.
Post Racing: turkey sandwiches with all the fixings will be provided for all participants while we all can “hand sail” the day at the bar. Our thanks to our volunteer member turkey/ham cookers and food preparers!
This is a pursuit race where the fastest boats start after the slowest boats. All kinds of boats welcome. Registered PHRF Handicaps are not required!
Basically it is once or twice around the racing circle marks and first boat home wins the day. Of course, the slowest boats get to start first to even things up. Even if you never race, this is a fun day out and a great way to get out one more time before the end of the season, so please come out and join the fun. Thanks to Co-Chairs Leo Belleperche and Doug Patterson for organizing and running this event again – talk to Doug about your handicap numbers!
We may still need volunteers to buy and cook a turkey or ham and bring it in that morning. You will be reimbursed for the purchase. We will also need several volunteers to prepare and set out the turkey, ham and fixings at the club post-racing that afternoon.
