The accident in a Gatineau marina on July 12 is a reminder for us all to put “Safety First”.  While the investigation continues and we hope for a speedy recovery for the injured mechanic, signs point to an explosion caused by engine ignition.

Take some time this week to review the safety procedures for your boats, check your safety gear and be familiar with extinguishers nearby on your boat and at the NSC docks.

In particular, if you have a gasoline inboard, ensure your blower works and use it before starting up that Atomic 4.

Storm Impact at NSC

NSC came out of Saturday’s derecho with no significant damage to our grounds or infrastructure. In the Park, however, several boats were spun-around and dragged by the wind.  Unfortunately, some were damaged – significantly fewer than could have been thanks to some quick action from Greg Johnston and Brent Beninger.
