It was a cool Fall windy day with constant pouring rain, poor visibility, and yet nine passionate NSC sailors went out to test their skills in Saturday’s Single-handed Race.

It was no hardship to be crossing the start line on Sat, yes the rain was falling and a light breeze blowing from the north but there was this beautiful heat mist rising from the water and as the boat reached towards C mark I’m sure I saw in the distance Ray James on Whippet and all the other spirits of racers who are out there.

Congratulations to Jalapeno, Mistrigri, and Lady Cait who were top three finishers in Elapsed Time for the Ottobahn Trophy. And congrats to Jalapeno, winner of the Whippit Cup on Corrected Time!

View the corrected time results (for the Whippit Cup, based on PHRF handicaps), and the elapsed time results (for the Ottobahn Trophy, no handicapping). Kudos to Horizon Job, Snoekie, Genesis and one of NSC’s newest fleet additions, Breakaway, who while arriving late to start, gamely sailed the course in the wet weather anyways, proving their mettle!
