Every new version of Internet Explorer is ‘unique’ and requires special handling. Sadly, IE 11 is no different and this causes some problems on NSC.CA.

Our Web site relies on several open source JavaScript libraries to format and display information shown in web pages.

Some of these libraries do not yet support the unique properties of the new IE 11 (or do not propely detect that IE11 is used) and this causes a loss of functionality in some applications like the BlueBook where search results are not displayed properly.

We are unwilling to upgrade our JavaScript libraries at this time as we are concerned that it would break some other displays in other pages. Extensive testing would be required to upgrade and we feel that the time is best spent on the web re-design efforts in progress.

We (the Web Team) therefore recommend that you use a W3C compliant Browser such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera to view NSC pages, at least those that do not render well in IE 11. Older versions of IE (7-10) are compatible also.

We will keep you appraised of any development.
