Whether racing or cruising, keelboats are expected to be equipped with appropriate lights; these are required both by the Collision Regulations (ColRegs), and our SIs in the case of racing. The BYC gates are still in, which unfortunately means BYC is unable to host the annual BYC Pinhey’s Point upriver race (which also forms part of the Interclub Long Distance Series) as originally scheduled for Saturday June 3rd. We sail in interesting times this spring.
For the first time in many years, the Olympic Circle set of 8 race marks is now complete, with the addition of marks B, G and H, on August 18th. See the Lac Deschênes Charts page for all the details.
The club judge course planned for 26 Feb 2022 has been cancelled, due to lack of registrations.
NSC is hosting Ontario Sailing’s training course on setting racing marks. Classroom + on-water practice. Setting marks quickly and accurately is a great skill for race committee volunteers. It will make you popular for invitations to regattas. Two levels of training offered: Saturday-only or Saturday + Sunday. Free for NSC members.
Fall Tuesday and Thursday keelboat race series begins 25 August 2020. This will be RRS-type racing. Boats who have registered: please read the Sailing Instructions to find out which fleet you are in – it is not the same as normal years.
