The Nepean Sailing Club (NSC) is currently looking for energetic and experienced volunteers to assume positions on its Board of Directors.
The Board’s role is to ensure that the Nepean Sailing Club effectively executes its mission to promote sailing and boating by providing high quality, cost effective programs and facilities for our members to support cruising, racing and life-long training in a culture of accessibility, volunteerism, mentorship and fun while realizing the vision of the club.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to help shape the future of your club, to work with a strong team of fellow board members and to learn about leading one of Canada’s best sailing clubs.
Our meetings focus on planning, and executing on plans to fulfill that mission. The Nominations Committee of the NSC is seeking qualified candidates to join the Board of Directors for one-year terms beginning in November 2013. Qualified candidates will have the skill-sets, expertise and experience necessary to guide the Club to continued success. The Board meets every month on a weekday from 7:30 to 10:00 pm.
Vacancies are anticipated in this fall in two Board roles:
- Board Secretary
- Youth and Adaptive Sail Training Director
All available positions are elected for a term of one year and may be re-elected for a maximum of three consecutive years.
The deadline for applications for candidacy is October 4, 2013, as all new positions are expected to be ratified at the November 2013 AGM. Interested candidates are invited to indicate their interest in order to receive an application and/or to pose questions to nsc-pastcommodore at nsc.ca.
