Bruce Macdonald’s wife, Linda, passed away Dec. 22 after a prolonged illness. Bruce was with her at the time and said she was at peace. The funeral service will be private but Bruce has planned a “Celebration of Life” in NSC’s East Room on Sunday 20 Jan. 2013, from 2 to 5pm. See Linda’s obituary.

Thank you to all the Volunteers for Club (Commercial) Launch!
Club (Commercial) Launch was successfully completed this past Saturday (June 8). Despite a mechanical problem with one of the cranes, all boats were in the water by 1500 hrs. A huge thank you to the organizers, crew chiefs and many volunteers who made it all happen so smoothly. “Bravo Zulu” to all!

Skiff & Catamaran racing this weekend
The fastestboats in the fleet are racing at NSC this weekend at the Ottawa Skiff & Catamaran Grand Prix. There’s a strong fleet this year – I14 & 29er skiffs – F16/F18 and Hobie 16/17/18 racing catamarans – and for the speed-hounds: Moth & UFO foiling boats.
Construction at NSC: Modified Clubhouse Access
Concrete workers will be onsite beginning today (1 Aug) to form and pour concrete outside the washroom doors and the Club’s back door. While construction is ongoing, access to these doors will be prohibited. Please stay clear of all construction work.
Turkey Trot Social & Potluck
Join us in Harbourview Hall after the Turkey Trot Race to celebrate a great sailing season! Hot turkey sandwiches will be provided. If you’d like to bring a dish for the potluck, please bring a salad or dessert to share for six. There is no cost for this event.
